Who are Rotarians?

Rotarians are business and professional leaders who take an active role in their communities while greatly enriching their personal and professional lives. A Rotary club contains a diverse group of professional leaders from the community that the club serves.

Rotary is essentially a grassroots organization, with most of its service efforts being carried out at the club level. The district and international structure is designed to support the clubs and help them provide more service in their local communities and abroad.

There are 1.4 million Rotarians in over 46,000 clubs worldwide.

Rotary Clubs

Rotarians are members of Rotary clubs, which belong to the global association Rotary International (RI). Each club elects its own officers and enjoys considerable autonomy within the framework of Rotary’s constitution and bylaws.

Rotary Districts

Clubs are grouped into over 500 RI districts , each led by a district governor, who is an officer of RI.

The district administration, including assistant governors and various committees, guides and supports the clubs.

Our district is Rotary International District 7815, which includes clubs from Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and the French islands of St. Pierre & Miquelon.
